Class 16, Tuesday April 26th

We looked at the harmonic possibilities of the assignment 6.11. We played through everyone's answers to get a sense of how the different harmonizations sounded.

We looked over the Chapter 6 quiz and had a look at everyone's overall grades

Then we moved on to Chapter 7 - The Melodic Line
We studied melodic form (phrase, motive, period, antecedent/consequent phrases etc.) and melodic manipulations (sequence, inversion etc.). All are detailed in your reading assignment.

Class 13, Thursday April 7th

Today we went over the homework, part writing the Plagal cadence, Harmonizing from just a soprano part and part writing using the 3rd to 3rd approach.

Then we studied the "Demons" of Part Writing!!!!!
